Tasting Flight Chese and Single Malt!

(Under Construction)

Let’s start off with a disclaimer.
We have no relationship with any of the establishments or productions mentioned in this article. They are simply places we visited or stayed or reflected on or enjoyed during our self funded trip to Scotland in September of 2018. We share them with our readers for informational/editorial purposes only.

The Chef, Patrick, is French. The Hostess/Waiter (the chef’s spouse is Scottish) and they specialize in Scottish fare with a French Flair using 100% locally sourced ingredients. What a great combination! We were glad we went the night Derek recommend the Seven Stills to us as they were closed the following night and we would have missed the opportunity. That would have been truly unfortunate.

One of the things we did in our dining sequence was reserve the cheese and Single Malt tasting flight to desert, rather than having as a appetizer. What a good decision for a closing accent to a wonderful meal that was. Both Judy and Dirk enjoyed a truly flavorful and aromatic Scotch broth with Lamb and Barley. The only thing we needed was for the portion to be twice the size. WOW was it good.

We followed the broth with a savory Venison Stew (Judy). If we haven’t mentioned this before, Judy is an excellent cook and enjoys dishes that are “Saucy”. Well this one measured up to her high standards and we would encourage others to enjoy.

Dirk, true to form, doubled down on the lamb and ordered a lamb shank.

This was medium rare, and melt in your mouth jucy. If Dirk could go there again tonight… well he would.

When we visit again the Lamb Shank at the Seven Stills will be high on Dirk’s list of Menu items.
